It is an Australian Government visa regulation that all student visa holders pay and be registered for Overseas Student Health Cover for the time allowed on their student visa.
This is a specially negotiated premium only available to international students and covers standard health requirements.
You need a visa to study in Australia, to apply for a course and to apply to be registered for Overseas Student Health Cover.

Depending on your country of citizenship, you may be required to apply for a Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA), which can take six weeks or longer. Please contact your nearest Australian High Commission or Consulate for details or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

If you do not need a Pre-Visa Assessment, please send us your signed course application form that shows how you want to pay.
A letter of offer suitable for your chosen method of payment will be sent to you.

If you are not enrolling through an education agent, take the electronic Confirmation of Enrolment and other documents required to your nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate.
